Oh my Aching....

You name it. It all hurts. I found my safety key to my treadmill last night so there were no more excuses. I dug out the exercise duds and got back into action. I did request my special bottled water for running and Mr C was happy to get it at the nearby Swan Mart.
**(When running, I must have bottled water with a pop-top. Nothing else will suffice. The screw caps end up giving one an impromptu bath -an open bottle while running = a mess! The twist caps are DANGEROUS. Last time I tried to open a twist cap while running on the treadmill, I mis-stepped and was almost propelled off the beastly machine.)***
Now, back to our regularly scheduled workout. I ran for about 30 minutes but couldn't quite handle the old speeds and had to turn them down slightly. About half-way through my baby cows aka calves were mooing in great protest and I seriously considered ending the run. I pushed on and completed the 30 minutes and almost cried when I realized still had to climb 2 flights of stairs to reach the shower. Yes, getting back into shape can be quite the emotional experience.
Today I am going to take it easy and just do the 30 minute power walk. I will leave the running for later in the week.

What are you doing to get into/keep in shape?

Baby cows? That's hysterical. I may have to use it. I've been going down to the Waterfront Park to run after work and feel the same way when I'm done...It takes everything I've got to walk the seven blocks to the garage I park at. But, I will push on! My goal is to run in the Race for the Cure next year. I have a loooong way to go. :o)

Running for 30 minutes when you haven't run in a while is absolutely astonishing! Most people can't do, period. Good job!!

Running's hard - good for you! I do the elliptical runner and sometimes the Wii.

Well, you know Todd the Trainer bailed on me last week so I'm on my own. It's going to be the treadmill all the way, along with the strength training exercises he taught me. I can do it...I THINK I can do it.

I'm not doing anything to get into shape right now and I NEED TO BE! I'm glad you got back on the treadmill. Walking works for me...whether the treadmill at the fitness center or just around the neighborhood.

I love that you have to have a specific water bottle. That's hilarious.
