Farewell Dinner

If we didn't have to leave the state to get all of these wonderful people together I would say last night was perfect.

We went to Mr C's favorite English restaurant/pub and all that were there ate, drank and were merry. We had so much fun. Thank you so much to the E family and the Jacobs family for making it happen. (Oh and thanks to the Sssitter for allowing us another great night of baby-sitting and booze.) I am pretty sure my purse spilled during all of the revelry and I can't seem to find my allery/nose spray. I guess that wasn't the last time the Kally family will frequent the English place.

Nothing exciting is going on here so I am mentally going through my 40+ pairs of shoes and trying to decide which ones are keepers and which I shall part with. As I said I'm one big fireball of fun right now (whatever).....but maybe if you can wear a size 7 1/2 to 8 shoe.

Here is a little something for laughs that the Sssitter showed me last night on YouTube. I am still cracking up over it.

Retail Therapy

Mr C came up with the cure for my fairy friend fiasco. The Mall. I ended up getting Miss B a couple of cute tanks at Children's Place and some for me too at J.Crew. I figure it will be an even trade if I can get rid of 4 old shirts we don't need any longer. The sinus infection is getting better so things are looking up. (feeling about 79.5%) :) I am going to be packing like a madwoman to make up for all the time I have lost and thankfully the MIL will be coming to town to help me wrap up some final pack and trash errands next week.

Tonight we are going to meet up with some friends for a farewell dinner & drinks at the local English Restaurant/Pub. This I will totally fake 100% wellness for.

Miss B's cute new top

I got these at J.Crew along with another tank in pink for $20. (I love checking out the clearance racks.)

Half Here

After a busy but enjoyable weekend the Crap Fairy came to visit the Kally household, particularly me. -Who is the Crap Fairy? you ask.- Let me tell you. I bet you know her already and just don't realize it. Think of those times when everything is going just the way you want it then -BOOM!- A pile of crap falls right into your lap! You may kindly thank the Crap Fairy for this little treat. Or, when everything is going wrong and you think things can't possibly get any worse and -Crash!- You get slammed with yet another bundle of BooBoo, compliments of the Crap Fairy. -I told you. You know her. Unfortunately I believe she has decided to hang with me and give me a "gift" every hour or so. It's not like I am not insane enough right now with all the packing, trashing and sorting involved in a move but my little fairy friend decided to mix it up for me. Wha-La! Now I have a full on sinus infection, complete with ecto-plasmic, neon boogies and a chest jarring, hard cough. Yuck! Sorry for the graphic description but I feel I must share in the crappy love. As I am typing my printer has decided to spew 90 pages of illegible junk and refuses to stop. BTW, I didn't ask it to print.

....I just made myself a cup of tea and realized I was steaming the paint from the cabinets with the electric kettle. I wiped the condensation from the cabinet doors and now you will have to excuse me while I pick the paint chips from my tea.

It can only get better from here, right?

Baby Fever

Last night we attended the Jacobs Family baby shower. It was such a joyous event with a really good turn-out. Little kids and babies were everywhere so I definitely got my baby fix. It was so much fun to hold a little baby again. (Thanks Jocelyn!!) I loved getting to see so many of my friends and Miss B had a grand old time. Someone had the bright idea to give her camera duty. I spotted her running around with a pink digital camera and said a little prayer for a least a few good pics to come from her photo madness. Girlfriend was trying to take a close-up picture of my retainer right after I polished off a piece of chocolate cake. (Really who wants to see that? :p)

Miss B cheesing it up for the camera at the shower.

Pain & a B-ism

Last night while packing my office, I injured my hand. Didn't think moving was going to be physically painful but I have learned my lesson. I was carrying a packed box from my office to the formal living room when I lost my footing and slammed my hand into a doorknob. Crunch!, OUCH! (and a ton of foul language filled the hallway). -Sorry about the language. It only comes out when I am in pain or grocery shopping.-
My last two fingers on my left hand began to swell and darken mid-finger. Mr C took care of me and iced the injured hand. Today the swelling has gone down but the fingers are still sore. Typing hurts so I will leave you with a B-ism.

This morning as I was attempting to fix my hair I noticed Miss B staring at me intently. "Is it really that bad?" I asked. She thought and stared for a moment.
"No, It's not that bad. You look like a troll doll on a Good hair day." she said matter of factly, shrugged and walked off.

Gee, Thanks Miss B.

Reality Round-up/ Jo & Slade

Last night I realized that I have been sucked into yet another reality show. The bad thing is it really isn't that great. Normally I love, Love, LOVE my Bravo reality shows which usually contain the perfect balance of drama and skill. (Project Runway, Top Chef, Real Housewives -hey it takes some skill to learn how to wield a credit card the way they do, right?) Then why oh why I ask have I been sucked into: Date My Ex: Jo & Slade?!?!?! Maybe it is because it reminds me of my beloved OC housewives whom I miss very much...too bad Bravo couldn't get one of them to guest grill some of these tools that go on "dates" with Jo. Every episode is the same with different people playing the roles:

The Main Cast:
Slade -an aging business man now Jo's manager? Now he is playing Peeping Tom on all of Jo's pre-arranged "reality dates." Oh, he lives with all of these guys too. He used to have kids on housewives but I bet after taking on Jo he felt she was more childish than his other 2 and we haven't seen them since. I find it funny that the older he gets the tighter his shirts are. I have found this to be typical today of men in Mid-Life Crisis -Take a look a Simon Cowell- enough said.

Jo -The OCs favorite gold-digger/drama queen. Unfortunately, as she has aged in years, she has regressed mentally resorting to baby-talking through 75% of the show. Ugh! She goes out on arranged dates with 3 new guys every episode and at the end chooses one to have a second date with. This "lucky" guy gets to stay in the house and wait for the next round of men to come through.

The Dates:

The Shy Guy: This poor guy is usually from a wholesome place like MN or grew up on a fishing boat and looks LOST in LA. He takes Jo on some crazy date where he thinks he will look cool by: gutting a fish, skeet shooting or sledding. He always feels the chemistry but obviously Jo doesn't since the Shy Guy is always the first to get the boot.

Slade-a-like: This one I also refer to as Slade's Choice. He is the one that Slade conveniently tells Jo "he's a lot like me." He takes her on a nice date. They have a good time. She tells him he is sweet/funny and in the end semi-stresses between choosing him or the other guy. She sends this one off with a friendly hug and pat on the back.

Mr. Moneybags aka Ego-tastic: This guy is always the biggest tool of the bunch. Slade hates him and by default Jo loves him. He has money, an okay to A+ body -this varies depending on how much $ he has, connections, and an ego the size of Antarctica. Jo always picks this loser.

End of story. It's crazily filled with staged drama and sad looks of longing from Slade. Jo might pick one of the losers in the end but will probably dump him when she's bored and continue hanging out with Slade. Please avoid this show at all costs! You don't want to get sucked into this empty vortex of reality TV and lose an hour of your life to it every Monday night. Wait until Wednesday and watch Project Runway instead.

Fun-day Monday: MmmMmm Good

Nothing really interesting happened over my weekend (unless you want to hear about me cleaning the garage on Sat or hulking out at Wal-mart aka The Evil Empire on Sun) so I thought we could all enjoy a little 80s hotness.

Your 80s Hunk Is

Michael J. Fox

I found this thanks to The Lawyer's Wife. I took the little questionnaire and he came up as my 80s hottie! This is spot on. I so had the hots for Michael J. Fox when I was younger. Well, him, Ralph Macchio, Sean Astin, Matthew Broderick (as Ferris Bueller), Corey Haim, Johnny Depp and Patrick Swayze. Wow, guess I had some major hormones raging back then. Who could help it with the hottie parade that was the 80s? So, tell me, Who was your 80s heart-throb?

Wanted: Wellies

I have recently fallen in love with Wellies. I figure since I will be moving to a place where it rains a lot I might as well. Sure, I will probably look like a tourist but at least me shoes will be okay.

I found these on a wellies site but I have heard rumors that J.Crew carries Wellies also. Hmmmmm. I might have to make a trip to the mall this weekend.

**Also, I would like to thank all who have written kind words of support and encouragement for Miss B. I have let her read them and she gets so happy thinking of people out there who have never met her and still care about her feelings. **

Love to all.
