Shhhhhh

Don't tell Mr C but I needed a moment away from everything that is going on so I am reading your blogs to catch up on the lives of my "Bloggy Friends." Too bad I can't post more than this since he is yodeling down the hall about laundry that is finished and I must fold.

Later guys! Remember Shhhhhhhhh!

Blog Hog

So I guess that is what I will be for the past and next few days. I am so tired from move stuff that I just don't feel I have the energy to put up a real post. BUT I am not so tired that I won't browse your blogs and even leave comments.

Here are some random thoughts:
What the heck is wrong with me. I have things to tell you but I just can't type them up.
My arms feel like spaghetti...to bad it's not from working out.
My brain feels like mush but it is not the after affects of girls night out.
My throat hurts and I think it is from sleeping with my mouth open |o
I have a desk to pack but I am doing everything to avoid putting that junk in a box, including just piling it atop my desk.
I think I need to refuel....anybody got a diet coke?
I have decided my road read will be Twilight.
I am dreading being on the RV with a ton of other people and only one toilet. -Maybe we could designate a ladies only potty?
I promise to put up something real when I get my brain back to it's normal functioning state. Maybe that state is OR?

***This is crazy! I typed up more than what came up. Blogger just kinda wonked out on me and split the page with a previous saved draft of this and the current draft with more added. When I tried to publish the post, Blogger posted the last save without the new stuff! I am so not loving Blogger right now and you can too since I can't remember everything I typed up.

A Little on the Crazy Side

Sorry if this post is filled with typos, doesn't make sense or seems a little nutso. That is just the mindset I am in right now. I feel so all over the place with barely a moment for a somewhat coherent thought to roll around my brain. While dealing with trying to sell/get rid of so much furniture, last minute packing and actually work at the office Mr C has become quite the stressed out grump. I guess I have been a little that way too and it is driving me CRAZY!!! I can't wait for the movers to get to our house to finish the packing and take everything away so I don't have to think about it for a little while.

I have tons of pics to post and things to tell you guys but every time Mr C catches me on the computer he gives me that look and I say....um I'm checking my email :D (I must quickly close all blog windows and snap my laptop closed so I am not totally busted.) Maybe I can argue that my blogging & blog reading helps me de-stress and I will be a more productive packer. Somehow I don't think he will buy that.

***OSB Weigh in- lost .5 lbs. Not alot but I really haven't had the time to exercise that much this last week either.*****

Fun for Now

I have been a very busy Kally today and probably will be for the rest of the week since this will be my LAST week in OK. Work has been absolutely bananas today. Go on you can sing it ***this sh*t is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S!*** I have happened upon another cute fast fun thing to do that I am adding below. I will try to make a real weekend update post later tonight.

You are most like:

You are Blue

You are cool and soothing, with a hidden spontaneous side. You are deeper than most people perceive, and you care a lot for those whom you surround yourself with.

Take this quiz: Which Crayola Box of 8 Color Are You?

Wow that is me to a "T" How did that happen?

My First Award

Oh my, a Diamond! I received my first award from Life of a Southern Belle. (If you haven't read her go ahead on check her out! I love reading of her life as a true Belle in South Carolina. Thank you Belle. I am so grateful for this award and most of all your friendship. - I Love my online-bloggy friends.

Now for...The Rules that come with this little gem!

1.) when you received a diamond, make a post about it on your blog

2. ) name the blogger from whom you got it

3. ) award the diamonds to seven other bloggers

4. ) link them

5.) and tell them, that they got one!

Here comes the hard part for me. Naming those I wish to honor with this award. Take a deep breath and read.

1.) The Cat's Pajamas - A really funny Crazy Cat Lady who always keeps me cracking up.

2.) Preppy Pink Crocodile - I LOVE her Sassy-tude and yes that is a great thing to have!

3.) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - I recently discovered this one and I definitely find her deserving.

4.) View from the Front Porch - This is one of the first blogs I started reading and to this day I can't stop.

5.) Smart A$$ Mom - I Love this lady because she is just so real. No hiding it at all.

6.) My Little Nest - She is one of the sweetest most ORGANIZED bloggers. I only aspire to get so together.

And Last BUT NOT least...
7.) Nutshell - What a DEDICATED blogger. I am happy to say she is a very close and wonderful friend IRL as well as the blogosphere. She totally deserves this recognition. (Sorry, I can't link to her as she has gone private.)

I love and read so many blogs and would give this award to all of you if I could!

Getting Ready

First off let me start with, Yea, it's Friday. I made it through another week. I am still packing and sorting like a crazy lady. Worst of all, I am running out of boxes or maybe that is best of all. I have decided once I run out of boxes I will just leave the rest for the movers to pack. Mr C will be back from Portland tomorrow just in time for the special Young Kehillah event at the E Family's house. I am going to miss our Young Tequila, Oops! I mean Young Kehillah events of babysitting and booze. (We get the Sangria, the Sssitters get the kids. Fun times for all!) I am still debating whether to go to the Chai Tea, an annual event for girls only, on Sunday since I won't have Miss B with me.

Last night my friend, Scrappy Girl, and I went for haircuts and facials. OMG, the facial was WONDERFUL. I almost fell asleep. I MUST find an Aveda Salon in Portland for more facials. It was so relaxing. If you live in the OK area I highly recommend getting one at Reed Johnson Salon. Just thinking about the soft brushes used in my favorite part of the facial makes me relax. I also got what we at Computer Co are fondly calling a Portland Cut. This is a haircut that is a little shorter than you would normally go for so you have time to really scout out a great place to get your hair done. (Mr C is convinced I have gone GI Jane on him since I won't email him a pic of the new cut ;) I guess you guys will have to wait also since I know he just might think he could be slick and check out the blog for a pic. Not happening.

***Lesson Learned: After getting a wonderful facial and having great herbal/natural/flowery moisturizers on your face and arms, DON'T go outside for a length of time (at least not in OK). I have counted 14 mosquito bites on my arms, neck and one on my cheek! Yikes! Those mosquitoes love me.

Busy at Work

Sorry everyone but I am BUSY today. I'm getting a haircut & facial tonight so I will try to squeeze in a post either late tonight or early tomorrow.

Wednesday Weigh-In

I just realized I have to let you guys know EVERY Wednesday my OSB progress. Maybe this will make me think even more seriously about it. My goal is to lose about 20 lbs. and I have been packing and working out on the Wii Fit most days this last week (4 days out of 7 for at least 30 minutes but no more than 45). When I weighed in I was surprised and HAPPY to see I have lost 2 lbs. already. I would say I am on a roll but food references sound oxy-moron-ish when talking about losing weight. I will just keep at I am off to great start for now. If anyone wants a little Kally support give me a holla and I will give you props.

****Remember if you haven't suggested a read to me already please do. I need something good to read for the trip.*****

Pick My Next Read

Help. I have finished People of the Book and I need a new read. I haven't posted my review for the last book since I am still trying to get my shhhtuff together. You know how it is. I really need a new read especially since I will be on the Oregon Trail for 4 days. (In the case you don't know...Computer Co is having movers take our things to OR but most employees will be shipped via the Trail. This will be 4 RVs with hired drivers trucking us to OR. Pretty crazy.) Please leave me a suggestion of what book I should bring along with me.

Thanks!

Moving Woes

I am so boring today. I have absolutely nothing to post. All I have going on is packing, work and taking care of Miss B. She is a little sick. :(

Last night I realized the movers are coming to pack the rest of my house, including furniture, on Friday 29th and we are not leaving until Wednesday Sept. 3rd. This means I will have 4 days and nights without furniture to sleep. Unfortunately, I already packed the air mattress. Any takers for housing the Kally Family? Just kidding. We might get a hotel room or just sleep on the floor? What have you done when faced with this situation?

OSB!

Have you noticed my new button on the side? Here is the explanation: So I am jumping on the wagon....the OSB wagon. I'm hoping to lose a few extra lbs that have jumped on me. -I swear, I should have stuck those doughnuts straight on my bum since they made their way there over time. This way I could see I really wouldn't like them, you know like trying on a dress before making the purchase. The OSB plan & group of girls seems to be a great way to try to lose those pesky pounds with a wonderful support group behind me.(Really what support group is better than the blogging community?) Oh, and while you are behind me try not to stare to hard at the giant doughnut bum I have.

***If you feel like jumping on the wagon click on the button to check out the site.***

Play dates: Past, Present and Future

Since we are fast approaching the move date, Sept 3rd, Miss B has been having play dates out the wazoo! I notice with each play date I seem to lose status in the Kally house. Let me explain:

Play dates Past: Miss B had a play date/sleepover with Branson Princess. Mr C and I drove them around to various places to play and eat. They decided they were "the Queens". Miss B informed us of our place in the Queens' house.
Mr C: the Chauffeur
Hair & Make-up Maven (Branson Princess's Mom): the Entertainment (This is fitting since she always has me cracking up.)
Me, Kally: ...the Maid (gotta love my girl)

Play dates Present: Miss B had her friend, Xmen Lover, over for a sleepover. (Don't ask, I barely know why but the girl loves Xmen.) You name it, they did it. Wii, DS, staying up late, eating ice cream and more. I took them to see Kit Kittredge/American Girl in the theater and upon returning home, I quickly learned my new place.

I was in the kitchen puttering around when I hear Miss B tell Xmen Lover to find out what I had in the Soup Kitchen. What the Heck!? So now I am servin' it up in a Soup Kitchen? ....Apparently.

Play dates Future: Miss B is going to the City to spend some last minute time with the MIL and her cousin J Girl. I am sort of afraid to find out where those two little girls are going to put me now. On the streets? I feel so loved.

Spending Freeze

Here Ye, Here Ye: I have instituted a spending freeze upon my household (mainly myself) to keep from making unnecessary purchases thus causing me, Kally, even more work/packing to deal with. This has become incredibly hard as I browse your blogs and see the gorgeous pics of purchases from Talbots, the Loft, J.Crew and more....Oh no! Not to forget my favorite store, Target. As I type these store names I keep telling myself that once I reach my destination, Portland, I will get to shop, Shop, SHOP!

Ikea and Target and Marshalls galore. Malls, the Saturday Market and I promise not to miss each and every corner store.
Going to the Pearl, Trendy-third and Hawthorne too. So many shops and stops and so much to do.
Getting manis, pedis and highlights for the fall. Finding cute boutiques in the Northwest District and making one more trip to the mall.
Hitting Spendy-first for a quick bite to eat. Then going to a movie or a pub for a treat.
And at the end of the day the last thing I will do.....is to look at my purchases and take a few pics so I can share them with you.

Love to all!

Farewell Dinner

If we didn't have to leave the state to get all of these wonderful people together I would say last night was perfect.

We went to Mr C's favorite English restaurant/pub and all that were there ate, drank and were merry. We had so much fun. Thank you so much to the E family and the Jacobs family for making it happen. (Oh and thanks to the Sssitter for allowing us another great night of baby-sitting and booze.) I am pretty sure my purse spilled during all of the revelry and I can't seem to find my allery/nose spray. I guess that wasn't the last time the Kally family will frequent the English place.

Nothing exciting is going on here so I am mentally going through my 40+ pairs of shoes and trying to decide which ones are keepers and which I shall part with. As I said I'm one big fireball of fun right now (whatever).....but maybe if you can wear a size 7 1/2 to 8 shoe.

Here is a little something for laughs that the Sssitter showed me last night on YouTube. I am still cracking up over it.

Retail Therapy

Mr C came up with the cure for my fairy friend fiasco. The Mall. I ended up getting Miss B a couple of cute tanks at Children's Place and some for me too at J.Crew. I figure it will be an even trade if I can get rid of 4 old shirts we don't need any longer. The sinus infection is getting better so things are looking up. (feeling about 79.5%) :) I am going to be packing like a madwoman to make up for all the time I have lost and thankfully the MIL will be coming to town to help me wrap up some final pack and trash errands next week.

Tonight we are going to meet up with some friends for a farewell dinner & drinks at the local English Restaurant/Pub. This I will totally fake 100% wellness for.

Miss B's cute new top

I got these at J.Crew along with another tank in pink for $20. (I love checking out the clearance racks.)

Half Here

After a busy but enjoyable weekend the Crap Fairy came to visit the Kally household, particularly me. -Who is the Crap Fairy? you ask.- Let me tell you. I bet you know her already and just don't realize it. Think of those times when everything is going just the way you want it then -BOOM!- A pile of crap falls right into your lap! You may kindly thank the Crap Fairy for this little treat. Or, when everything is going wrong and you think things can't possibly get any worse and -Crash!- You get slammed with yet another bundle of BooBoo, compliments of the Crap Fairy. -I told you. You know her. Unfortunately I believe she has decided to hang with me and give me a "gift" every hour or so. It's not like I am not insane enough right now with all the packing, trashing and sorting involved in a move but my little fairy friend decided to mix it up for me. Wha-La! Now I have a full on sinus infection, complete with ecto-plasmic, neon boogies and a chest jarring, hard cough. Yuck! Sorry for the graphic description but I feel I must share in the crappy love. As I am typing my printer has decided to spew 90 pages of illegible junk and refuses to stop. BTW, I didn't ask it to print.

....I just made myself a cup of tea and realized I was steaming the paint from the cabinets with the electric kettle. I wiped the condensation from the cabinet doors and now you will have to excuse me while I pick the paint chips from my tea.

It can only get better from here, right?

Baby Fever

Last night we attended the Jacobs Family baby shower. It was such a joyous event with a really good turn-out. Little kids and babies were everywhere so I definitely got my baby fix. It was so much fun to hold a little baby again. (Thanks Jocelyn!!) I loved getting to see so many of my friends and Miss B had a grand old time. Someone had the bright idea to give her camera duty. I spotted her running around with a pink digital camera and said a little prayer for a least a few good pics to come from her photo madness. Girlfriend was trying to take a close-up picture of my retainer right after I polished off a piece of chocolate cake. (Really who wants to see that? :p)

Miss B cheesing it up for the camera at the shower.

Pain & a B-ism

Last night while packing my office, I injured my hand. Didn't think moving was going to be physically painful but I have learned my lesson. I was carrying a packed box from my office to the formal living room when I lost my footing and slammed my hand into a doorknob. Crunch!, OUCH! (and a ton of foul language filled the hallway). -Sorry about the language. It only comes out when I am in pain or grocery shopping.-
My last two fingers on my left hand began to swell and darken mid-finger. Mr C took care of me and iced the injured hand. Today the swelling has gone down but the fingers are still sore. Typing hurts so I will leave you with a B-ism.

This morning as I was attempting to fix my hair I noticed Miss B staring at me intently. "Is it really that bad?" I asked. She thought and stared for a moment.
"No, It's not that bad. You look like a troll doll on a Good hair day." she said matter of factly, shrugged and walked off.

Gee, Thanks Miss B.

Reality Round-up/ Jo & Slade

Last night I realized that I have been sucked into yet another reality show. The bad thing is it really isn't that great. Normally I love, Love, LOVE my Bravo reality shows which usually contain the perfect balance of drama and skill. (Project Runway, Top Chef, Real Housewives -hey it takes some skill to learn how to wield a credit card the way they do, right?) Then why oh why I ask have I been sucked into: Date My Ex: Jo & Slade?!?!?! Maybe it is because it reminds me of my beloved OC housewives whom I miss very much...too bad Bravo couldn't get one of them to guest grill some of these tools that go on "dates" with Jo. Every episode is the same with different people playing the roles:

The Main Cast:
Slade -an aging business man now Jo's manager? Now he is playing Peeping Tom on all of Jo's pre-arranged "reality dates." Oh, he lives with all of these guys too. He used to have kids on housewives but I bet after taking on Jo he felt she was more childish than his other 2 and we haven't seen them since. I find it funny that the older he gets the tighter his shirts are. I have found this to be typical today of men in Mid-Life Crisis -Take a look a Simon Cowell- enough said.

Jo -The OCs favorite gold-digger/drama queen. Unfortunately, as she has aged in years, she has regressed mentally resorting to baby-talking through 75% of the show. Ugh! She goes out on arranged dates with 3 new guys every episode and at the end chooses one to have a second date with. This "lucky" guy gets to stay in the house and wait for the next round of men to come through.

The Dates:

The Shy Guy: This poor guy is usually from a wholesome place like MN or grew up on a fishing boat and looks LOST in LA. He takes Jo on some crazy date where he thinks he will look cool by: gutting a fish, skeet shooting or sledding. He always feels the chemistry but obviously Jo doesn't since the Shy Guy is always the first to get the boot.

Slade-a-like: This one I also refer to as Slade's Choice. He is the one that Slade conveniently tells Jo "he's a lot like me." He takes her on a nice date. They have a good time. She tells him he is sweet/funny and in the end semi-stresses between choosing him or the other guy. She sends this one off with a friendly hug and pat on the back.

Mr. Moneybags aka Ego-tastic: This guy is always the biggest tool of the bunch. Slade hates him and by default Jo loves him. He has money, an okay to A+ body -this varies depending on how much $ he has, connections, and an ego the size of Antarctica. Jo always picks this loser.

End of story. It's crazily filled with staged drama and sad looks of longing from Slade. Jo might pick one of the losers in the end but will probably dump him when she's bored and continue hanging out with Slade. Please avoid this show at all costs! You don't want to get sucked into this empty vortex of reality TV and lose an hour of your life to it every Monday night. Wait until Wednesday and watch Project Runway instead.

Fun-day Monday: MmmMmm Good

Nothing really interesting happened over my weekend (unless you want to hear about me cleaning the garage on Sat or hulking out at Wal-mart aka The Evil Empire on Sun) so I thought we could all enjoy a little 80s hotness.

Your 80s Hunk Is

Michael J. Fox

I found this thanks to The Lawyer's Wife. I took the little questionnaire and he came up as my 80s hottie! This is spot on. I so had the hots for Michael J. Fox when I was younger. Well, him, Ralph Macchio, Sean Astin, Matthew Broderick (as Ferris Bueller), Corey Haim, Johnny Depp and Patrick Swayze. Wow, guess I had some major hormones raging back then. Who could help it with the hottie parade that was the 80s? So, tell me, Who was your 80s heart-throb?

Wanted: Wellies

I have recently fallen in love with Wellies. I figure since I will be moving to a place where it rains a lot I might as well. Sure, I will probably look like a tourist but at least me shoes will be okay.

I found these on a wellies site but I have heard rumors that J.Crew carries Wellies also. Hmmmmm. I might have to make a trip to the mall this weekend.

**Also, I would like to thank all who have written kind words of support and encouragement for Miss B. I have let her read them and she gets so happy thinking of people out there who have never met her and still care about her feelings. **

Love to all.
